Accessibility
Dziri for everyone
We want Dziri to work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or larger text. This statement says what works, the known limitations, and how to tell us about a problem.
What works
On Dziri's public pages, like this one.
Arabic, French and English
These pages are available in all three languages, and the page language is set so screen readers use the right voice.
Right to left
In Arabic, pages read right to left, with the layout mirrored to match.
Keyboard
These pages can be used with a keyboard alone. A skip link goes straight to the content, and focus is always visible.
Clear structure
Real headings, landmarks and labelled controls, so screen readers can move around the page.
Contrast
Text on these pages meets the WCAG AA contrast ratio.
Less motion
These pages don't animate beyond hover and focus, and they turn even that off when your device asks for reduced motion.
Known limitations
We would rather say so plainly.
Inside the app
The app behind sign-in hasn't had the same review as these pages. Some screens may not work well with a keyboard or screen reader.
Captions
Videos that members upload don't get automatic captions, including in Algerian Arabic.
Audio description
Videos with audio description are not available.
Live updates
Real-time updates, such as new messages, may not be announced clearly to screen readers.
Algerian Sign Language
We don't provide guides in Algerian Sign Language, including for account recovery.
Large text in the app
The app has no large-text mode. Browser zoom works on these pages.
The standard we work to
We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA and use the ARIA Authoring Practices Guide as our reference for menus, dialogs and other complex controls.
